When I think about why I do this, why I write about Permission and send it out into the world like a message in a bottle hoping it finds its way into the hands that need and value it, I come back to the same thing every time. I want everyone to know this. Especially woman and those socialized as women.
I want you to know that you get to try.
I don’t know if your particular dream will come true the way you imagine it. But I know for sure it won’t if you don’t engage with it. A whole society has spent a lot of effort and at least a few hundred years putting thoughts in your brain that want you to believe that you don’t get to even try. That someone else has to do it for you. That you only get to try when everyone else has theirs. Or, that you are more valuable serving others. That you simply mustn’t (insert every vague untrue reason). And funny enough the work never gets done and no one ever says (yet) “now your turn.” And that sucks.
Those implanted thoughts are the potholes in the road to the life you want and you are going to have to swerve and you’ll probably hit a few. They are no reason to turn back.
I heard a version of this somewhere this week and I wanted to share it with you for inspiration.

Have a great week,
