It is not success if you aren't thriving.

A shout out to those deep in changing themselves and the world.

I’ve been trying to be a better friend lately, reaching out, asking questions, etc. I honestly am not great at it. In the moment I can be the best of listeners, council and care, but ‘staying in touch’ has always eluded me a bit. During my efforts I’ve realized that some of us are really struggling. Have been really struggling. Financially. Emotionally. Physically. Existentially!

So many of us have been given very clear indications that we couldn’t just keep doing what we were doing anymore. That our bodies and overall wellbeing wouldn’t tolerate the twisting and masking of self we were doing to succeed and fit into a world we didn’t design. And yet there also hasn’t been a pre-made soft landing for taking those very brave steps to quit what wasn’t working and step into an unknown. The unknown is a mess!

I can’t tell you how many of us are out here feeling THE BEST we’ve ever felt inside ourselves and yet being the most societally unsuccessful we’ve ever been. And that juxtaposition is what tells me something good is happening. Even if right now we have to figure out how to survive and pay the bills in creative ways. This is the wobbly bit while we find the new way. Each step one towards building a kind of success that includes your own thriving! Imagine it!

If you are in the thick of something like that too I just want to say thank you. Thank you for redesigning the world around you. Thank you for being brave and different just incase you feel like you must be wrong to have listened to that voice inside you that said ‘enough with that.’ There is no way we’ll be able to handle all the challenges the future holds as our best selves if we don’t change the way we give ourselves to the world. Thank you for bringing your heart-led resourced self to our world.
